An Aston Martin V8 Vantage not special enough? For us hard to understand, but okay, we like to think along. Only 240 of the Dutch-tinted Brit in the photographs have been made. The original color scheme and limited edition make this AM V8 Vantage N400 as it is officially called, in one go a real rarity. However, how special the Aston also looks, it is above all the story behind that impresses ...
Background & technology
The orange glow on the timelessly stylized bodywork can ensure that the connection with our country is made easy, the idea behind the N400 is completely different. The "N" in the type designation does not refer to the Netherlands but to a famous German circuit. The model pays homage to Aston Martin's participation in the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring. The meaning behind the series 400 is a bit more obvious: they stand for the 400 horsepower that the 8-cylinder cough up. That is 20 more than the 'standard' V8 Vantage 4.3 delivers.
Whoever calls that the N400 is not 240 but 480 built, is partly right. Aston Martin has divided the numbers equally between the Roadster and the Coupé. How did they reach the number 480? During tests at the Nürburgring Nordschleife the N400 with its lap time went below 8 minutes. A great achievement, and therefore the British manufacturer decided to tune the production number to the 480 seconds that are in 8 minutes. This gives you a good story right away when this unique AM becomes a topic for discussion.
To make the story even more beautiful: the Karussell Orange paint that adorns this beautiful copy is the same as the N400 debuted in 2007 at the IAA in Frankfurt. It concerns one of the three body colors that were exclusively available on this Limited Edition Aston Martin. And, if you ask us, by far the best of all three.
Furthermore, the N400 Coupé can be recognized by a sports package, which includes lightweight 19 inch rims. This specific car is equipped with the polished variant including 7-spoke design. Gray calipers are hidden behind them, as well as improved springs and dampers. Finally, the sports package includes a newly developed anti-roll bar for an even tighter road holding.
Interior & equipment
Inside the Obsidian Black interior are the Orange stitching, combined with perforated leather and a real map of the Nürburging, stitched on the central part of the center armrest. In case you would forget what this Aston Martin owes its existence ...
The center console is luxuriously finished in Gunmetal Gray, and is therefore in line with the equipment: navigation with bluetooth, electrically adjustable and heated seats including memory function, cruise control and a Premium audio system are all included. This ensures that you are comfortable with it, on the way to improving your personal lap record.
With kind regards,
